Because we are passionately committed to holding and keeping a position of software industry leadership, and we love networking with and learning from other tech industry leaders and visionaries, on March 7-16 our CEO Cesar DOnofrio and CMO Nancy Medica journeyed south to Austin, TX for the world famous SXSW Interactive event. There, Cesar, along with the representatives from CESSI and ArgenTInaIT took part in the Argentina’s Ambassador Talks About Creativity panel discussion held Saturday, March 8. Also present in this riveting, informative panel discussion were Guillermo Bodnar, and Silvina Moschini.
The panel focused on the powerful combination of innovation capabilities, tech readiness and first-class creative talent that has turned Argentina into a major player on the international software development and IT scene.
Argentina produced a major impact at SXSW 2014, participating in a series of events in SXSW Music, Film and Interactive, and Making Sense led from the front, representing Argentina very well. Leandro Gonzalez, CEO of our innovative game development company Trick Gaming Studio, Making Sense CPO Nacho Caldentey and Fernando Florez, Marketing Manager for our award-winning landing page platform Lander then joined Cesar and Nancy, and all participated extensively in the SXSW Interactive event.
Trick Gaming Studio & SXSW Gaming Expo
Leandro Gonzalez, CEO of Trick gaming Studio with his passion for digital games and gaming development was especially interested in the SXSW Gaming Expo held Friday, March 7. The Expo was a high energy event that featured gaming exhibits, discussion panels and fun parties. It was a golden opportunity for gaming industry professionals like Leandro to socialize with gaming enthusiasts and consumers.
The fact that the SXSW Gaming Expo was held in Austin made it that much more special for Leandro, because he now lives and works in Austin, a hotbed for the gaming industry and startup culture.
SXSW Interactive is one of the world’s leading events in the technology space. It is ground zero for displays of digital breakthroughs. It features dozens of exciting networking events hosted by prominent tech industry leaders. It’s a world famous showcase for video games and web-based technology.
For IT leaders in attendance, like the Making Sense team, it’s a must see event. And our team had a fantastic time learning about new, cutting edge-technologies, taking in presentations by industry experts and networking with other tech company professionals like themselves.
Spectacular Networking Opportunities!
They had the privilege of networking with and learning from a host of talented, creative individuals on the vanguard of the most innovative new IT industry trends, products and developments.
An interesting and inspiring session was titled “Four Tech Companies Changing the Face of Tech”. It sought to expose and refute the myth that there are no successful tech companies run by black people. It highlighted the achievements of some black female entrepreneurs working in markets ranging from health care to education to cloud computing.
Of particular interest to many attendees was the session “Mobile Security & the Future of the App Economy”, especially considering recent news about NSA surveillance and the growing awareness of security vulnerabilities in our mobile devices. Panelists discussed issues of app safety, cybersecurity, and IP law in an effort to highlight areas of concern and how they impact the modern digital landscape.
Incredible SXSW Keynotes Presentations!
The Making Sense team attended a number of fascinating keynote presentations while at SXSW. One they found especially interesting was from Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson who spoke on “the importance of science, space and humanity”. One of many memorable quotes from Dr. Tyson’s presentation was this: “If education is expensive, try the cost of ignorance”
Austin Kleon the “writer who draws,” presented an entertaining and thought-provoking opening night keynote. At the SXSW Interactive Festival, those in attendance surround themselves with extremely bright, talented people and thousands of powerful ideas.
Drawing up the themes of creativity, inspiration and innovation, Mr. Kleon offered unique insights into the creative process in the digital age, insights than can help transform ideas into reality.
